The catalyst was the loss of a loved one. « Since he departed, painting has been a way for me to find him again. I search for a face, a gaze… I had promised him I would travel. I have traveled extensively, and today, I escape through my eyes and painting. »

The House of Artists Contemporary Artists is a website published by the association « La Maison des Artistes. »
Founded in 1952 by artists with a spirit of solidarity, La Maison des Artistes is the largest association of visual artists in France.
MISSIONS
La Maison des Artistes carries out general interest missions for visual artists, including solidarity, professional support, advice, and information. It has also been authorized by the State since 1965 to manage social security for graphic and visual artists.
ROLE AND ACTIONS
Since its inception, the primary purpose of La Maison des Artistes has been solidarity towards artists.
This is why it has been authorized by the State to manage the Social Security system for authors of graphic and visual works (interministerial decree of September 23, 1965, and March 30, 1978).
In addition to this public interest mission, La Maison des Artistes also fulfills general interest missions reserved for artists who wish to join the association.
The association issues a free access card to National Museums and various art venues for its members.
It organizes a service of free legal consultations specializing in artists’ rights (artist’s rights, copyright, workshops, taxation, social rights).
The contributions from these members constitute a Social Aid fund to assist artists in financial and professional difficulty.
